JUST IN TIME!!! I ended up getting two, I have one running now It works great, I'm glad there was some left. I just recived the second one today. There is nothing better than the smell of a new radio. The only difference's that I know of between the 2510 and the Lincoln is, the lincoln has variable power where the 2510 has recieve gain. And the Local/Distance switch on the lincoln is a Transmit switch on the 2510.

My understanding is most dealers don't want to import them because they are 11 meter ready. If the FCC catches them in customs they will confiscate the batch and fine the importer. Most radios like Ranger, Galaxy and Superstar are not 11 meter ready. If a radio operates on 11 meters it has to be type accepted by the FCC.

The factory that manufactured them in the US closed about a year ago.

Magnum410,

There hasn't been a factory manufacturing radios in the US in years.

Phoneman part of what you said is true. There is a way to get them here in the US. Magnum410 your info is wrong there built overseas. Have been for a long time now. If Copper has no problem can getting them I wonder why others can't?

If anyone wants one my suggestion would be to buy it from Copper.

Northstar,

I didn't say you couldn't get them I said most dealers don't want to import them. Who wants to pay $20,000 to $50,000 up front for a batch of President radios that has the possibility of being confiscated by the FCC before they even get past customs? Copper and most other dealers don't need to take that kind of a risk when they can get Ranger, Galaxy and Superstar in the country without fear of the FCC.

the President Lincoln was sold in the UK as the Uniden 2830, I had one that was converted to cover 26.000 - 29.999 megs, there is a very small mod to do involving 1 piece of wire to get the coverage. check out >>
