I encourage everyone to take the ham test and become a ham operator. I am taking the General test 2-5-2019 What I like about being a ham operator is you don't have the cussing or filthy speech and 99 per cent of the time everyone will bend over backward to help and be respectful to you. However I still do 11 meter because we Have a Christian channel. Most of us are Christian's and the few that are not are as respectful as Christian's and Ham operator's.

Milkman, Thanks a lot. I purchased an Alinco dx-sr8t HF radio and a MFJ 229 automatic antenna tuner. I have a homemade dipole up now and so far the band condition's are doing pretty good. Perhaps some day we might be able to cross paths on the HF. Have a BLESSED DAY AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Sorry I had not seen your post in time but , I figure I can be on 3597.5 lsb about 8:00 am TUESDAY ..I also do DMR but our repeater I use for some reason is not connected to the internet. When I am on DMR I usually monitor North America and TAC-310 Reason I said Tuesday morning at that time is that this is a holiday week end and my family is in and we are busy. I look forward to see if we can communicate on 3597.5 LSB TUESDAY MORNING 8:00

Thanks Dale, When the 11 meter band is quiet and no one local or far away is there to talk to you can always find people to talk to on either 2 meter or 70cm. If that fails there is the HF band's. Lots of SSB activity there if you love SSB. Now if people are into the internet there is DMR. As long as the repeater you have contact with is connected to the internet you can not only talk local but your entire state ,all over the USA last but not least WORLD WIDE everyday all day or night. DMR is like talking Skip without waiting for propagation or running any power. You can talk world wide on a 5 watt walkie talkie as long as you are within range of the repeater.I encourage everyone to take the ham test and get to enjoy all the frequencies and different format's that is there for all to enjoy. If I can do it anyone can do it. There are kids making their HAM LICENSE. So my friend's consider taking your test and enjoy more.
