Boy,I don't know nothin about tube amps.A bud of mine told me he had built an amp with 4 4cx10000a tubes.I'm trying to remember his shack details,he has a navy deisel generator;600 volts dc at 1700 amps and an elaborate system of batterys stacked in series/parallel.These aren't car batterys they're 40"x40"x40"huge I forget what they came out of,but they were totally discharged and when he hooked the gen. to them the load stalled it and melted the ground made from 4 00 welding cables. His shack is 20x30 with a sub floor for the batts. They are stacked 2 deep under the floor of the whole shack,he showed it to me, it is the awesomest piece of engineering I've ever seen in my life.

Richard, your more powerful than my local AM radio station. You don't live in Tacoma, Washington do you???,,, haha, just kidding, I'm sure if you've been in that long, you know how to run your equipment.
The reason I said Tacoma, I just read the story about their 'new' cb law in this months Copper mazazine. BTW I received it yesterday, the damn postoffice had torn off front and back covers, they were gone completely. pitiful,, they did have it in one of their little envelopes, and apologized for the damage, but don't know what they did with the cover pages, or how they knew it was mine, no address anywhere.
Anyway, the story was interesting, they passed an uninforceable law, and it might have been because of one bad operator. I know some bad apples like that back in the 1970s that got their tower/antennas pulled down by some late night operators. Kinda dangerous, and two wrongs sure don't make a right, but it happened. I saw pictures in the paper of a couple of antennas after they were dragged down a road for several miles. Not much left, lol.

Looks like an old "Elcom/Bauer" brand transmitter, which I did not know they ever made any in a 22" double rack above 5Kw output. Thought the 20Kw's were in two 22" double racks, one rack for the supply and exciter section, the other rack for the amp and low pass filter. ANyway, they were a fairly difficult transmitter to get to pass a proof...microphonic exciters and RFI prone supplies!

My two cents worth,
Mr_RF
