Well, last month Mrs237 and I signed on the dotted line to purchase 16 acres in Southern Oregon. The property is totally off-grid, so apart from building a home, I will need to plan and build a power system (probable solar with back-up generator), a water system (rainwater and well) and a septic system (although we plan to recycle greywater for irrigation).

Then I can get to the IMPORTANT part - what antennas can I shoehorn into a measly 16 acres. I do see a tower (nearest neighbor will be around 5 miles away)with possibly a Spider web antenna for 20-6m. as well as Moxons or similar for 2M, 70cm and 6M along with verticals.I am having thoughts about a loop around the perimeter for lower HF bands, but may even look at a rhombic.

I will run a vertical of some type on 11M.

Although it will be a year or so before we move, I am looking forward to getting out of this antenna restricted apartment and getting back to some serious operating.

we walked away from this property.

We went to pull copy of the Deed and found it had been registered to another buying 3 days before we "bought" it. This was in June of 2021. In November we came across a place with a yard, big enough for a few antenna and the dogs. It had been owned by a deceased heavy smoker (That took some cleaning)and was being sold by his nephew.

We moved in on Thanksgiving - earlier than we intended, but our old landlord decided to give us 10 days notice (they had not renewed leases since 2019) when we advised we would be moving at the end of December.

Have the shack/office assembled, but no antennas up yet - that will come with summer.

Have a 80-6M vertical up but still working on 11M and vhf (vertical and horizontal) antenna. Actually got some op time durng the recent 10M contest.

Also need to replace the CB and still doing my research on that.

Putting the 2m antenna up this weekend - a slot antenna made from a Dishnet satellite dish that was left here. It will go up on top of the post that will hold the feed end of the HF Horizontal antenna, the other end of which will be on a 25ft flagpole across the yard, that will also fly a flag Robyn is designing (US Flag on 25ft pole in front yard.

Will be adding an A99 or similar for the CB/10M rigs. Just trying to work what to put up for 2 and 70cm SBB.

Oh, not sure this got mentioned before but on Jan 31/2022 I did finally become a US Citizen after 22 years.
