While working toward WAS all bands using FT 8 mode the HI station made a comment using an Email message that answered a question that I inquired of him. That being, "Why is it that HI is such a difficult place to make contact with?"

The answer was "Being in the middle of the Pacific you are isolated requiring Max Power to reach the 48 main states/or Asia reliaby."

Now I can see that one individual may not be able to afford a 1500 watt amp and a great antenna system why not a ham radio club finance such a system on one or those high mountains and open it for club member use Any hints as to why I am open to suggestions, theories or ideas. There cannot be that many impoverished people out there.
