GREETINGS
I read just yesterday that the FCC is now considering allowing FM modulation here in the USA.
A answer is suppose to be coming forth this month.
A friend and a station tried FM a number of years ago on a CB channel, and it was nice and clear on FM, and both had a good signal report at 30 miles.
I believe EUROPE has had FM for many, many years.
It will be of interest to see what happens this month.

I agree that the FCC should allow FM for 11 meter ( CB ). FM is very nice to listen to when communicating. I personally would like to add that I believe the FCC should expand 11 meter band for 40 channel's above 40 and 40 channel's below 1. If both were to be done I believe it might attract more people to 11 meter band and possibly increase radio sale's. |

cobra is the one that petitioned for it, so i'm sure they will be coming out with a new radio soon

i was reading on facebook its already legal..and by sounds of it president and cobra help to push it threw. i look for them to start putting fm in there lineup of 11 meter radios at some point..i like it and cant wait to see new stuff on the market

Dale, What is your opinion about expanding legally the bands above and below the 11 meter band? I think this would be a plus for the 11 meter radio sales and for the operator. |

I would like to see an additional 7-10 channels up or down exclusively for FM, this should build sales and more activity.

They shouldnt hae cared about FM being used in the 80s on 11,Alot of people wouldnt have been splashed to all hell from dirty amps,etc..... (The modulation didnt bleed thru)
FM is just a better mode,always has been!!!!! |

Are the existing 40ch. populated in your areas 24/7?
I suspect additional channels will drive the price of radios up.
