The March issue of QST page 71 has a review of the ranger 5054. They like it but the author is well know for his dislike of lower priced radios. GASP! he admitts it works good is well made although he goes after ranger for not making it smaller.. big deal.. admitts what i stated that it is a fine radio on fm... but knocks it for not having tone ... woopie and dosent like the .1 khz he thinks it should have 10 hz like my yaseu ft-840 ..come to think of it my dx-70 alinco only has .1 khz tunning boy he is picky. Guys if you want a fine radio with lots of bang for 300 bucks buy this one. Im not a ranger fan but they get 4**** for this one now for them to let copper start selling them !

If it works nearly as well as the new RCI 2950DX, it has to be a great radio. The only problem I would have with it is the power. There are a lot of big guns on 6 meters these days.
