I just purchased a used galaxy 33 and they tell me that it sounds like I'm talking in a pipe even with the echo and reverb off, and it has verry poor receive. The radio has had several mods.ie swing kit, it swings 2-30w rms. at least that is what the guy asid. I dont have a schematic books or anything that would help except you guys so can anybody help pls, thanks Jake

Hello there,

The Galaxy radios are known for this especially on SSB, this is because even when the echo circuit is "off" the audio is still being fed through it, and it adds a reverb efect. It's fairly simple to fix, and involves removing a couple capacitors on the echo board.
