There are several good mods (or enhancements if you will) for that radio. Search the net for EPT690010Z and you should find what you need. If that don't work, email me and I'll send you a link. I tried to post it earlier, but something must have went wrong.

I bought that radio and paid to have it peaked, tuned and modified by Copper ($30). I couldn't hardly get it to do 50% modulation on my Dosy meters.

Turned VR16 all the way up (Modulation Limiter) and put a good powered D104 on the radio...has modulation all day now. I also adjusted VR18 (AM/FM low power) and it now swings from 2 watts to just over 20....drives my Texas Star 667v to swing from 18 watts to just over 200 and everyone says it sounds FANTASTIC. You do NOT need to perform the "swinger" modification to this radio if you use a good powered D104.
