i also have a dx-70t it is a fine radio and yes it will work over a wide range with a tunner. I do it with a dypole cut for 10, 17 and 20 of course it will not work as well as a well tuned antenna on all frequencys

If you don't already have one, a great performing and inexpensive tuner is the LDG AT-11. Have fun!

Where did you get a DX70T for $380? I would very much like to know unless it is a secret supplier. LOL!!! I have heard great things about that radio and other Alincos.
Thanx
Dan

Another tuner you can use it the MFJ945e. I use it with an Icom796 and sp3000 mobile, and it tunes from 6 - 20 meters. The A99 will tune no problem. 100 dollars.

Checkout http://www.ldgelectronics.com/z-11.html

The price has changed a bit since I got mine 2 years ago and they now have an AT-11MP out instead with a few more bells and wistles.

I doubt you will find a bad review on this product.

I have the older AT-11 and it will tune about any wire to anything under 6 meters.
