I just bought a Galaxy SSB and not one of our techs in lower alabama have ever seen one and they said that their is no mods, the radio puts out 17W it's a dule final radio at least thats what my friends say and all own an RCI2980 and put out 40-50W and sound like gang busters. I would like mine to sound like theirs,is it possable? maybe I should have bought an 2980? I dont even have an owners manual or schematic. Can anyone please help me thanks Jake

A Galaxy MELAKA is NOT the same board as the DX2517, the 2517 has an EPT690010Z board, the MELAKA has an EPT360014B, like a DX33HML!!!

What? I thought a Melaka had SSB! That means I could buy a Gal. 33 and turn it into a Gal. 77 or something? Wow, how many radios have multi-mode boards and come packaged as AM/FM radios?
