Hello - I just got from a friend 125' of new LMR-400 flex for $70. Is this a good price for this coax? I have seen people talk about the LMR-400 but not the LMR-400 Flex. Is the Flex as good as the LMR-400? Or did I just blow $70 on COAX??
THANK - JJ

LKR400 has solid center, flex has stranded center. Flex is higher, usually about $.70 per foot.

JJ,

Warlock is right on. LMR 400 flex will be fine for CB. I don't think you got ripped off. Especially since you didn't have to pay shipping on 30 or 40 pounds of cable! The solid center conductor in reg. LMR 400 only becomes important @ higher frequencies, like 1 gig (1000 mhz) and up on large coax. As a matter of fact, times only sweeps it to about 3 gigahertz. The flex might be better for you because it is much easier to work with. Reg. LMR 400 is very rigid.

The only thing to watch out for is getting plugs that will accept the larger center conductor. Most RG8/RG213 plugs don't fit the center conductor. Let me know if you have any problem and I will help you get some.

Take Care,
Znut

ZNut - I am going to need 10. I need to make jumpers for Filter, Meter, Amp, ETC. I thought that standard PL-259 would work. Could you please let me know where I can get them..
Thanks for the help..
