Just looking for any information on the RoadPro Titan II. I know it was made in the Phillipines for Maycom, thats about it! Can I convert this radio to 11 meters to make it a dual band? Does anyone know how much a nice used one is worth? Or, even if they are sold anywhere? Thanks for the help! 73's

You can convert for 11 meters in about 5 minutes. Clip a diode out, short two pads out and you're done. This radio is basically a single final version of the dual final Magnum 257 by RF Limited. The 257 also adds an RF output control knob. You can get a new Titan on eBay nay day for about $85.00. At that price, why buy used?

I like the D104 best on it, but each you mentioned would sound good with the Titan. 4 or 6 wire doesn't matter unless you want up/down controls added to your mike then you need 6.

Points on RPSY-485 ( and mag 250 )

WARNING pin 6 the one in the center is HOT it goes to the on/off switch if your going to use a mike with this radio make shure nothing is connected to that pin...POOF there goes a fuse or worse.. unless your going to power the mike off it.... i mated up a copper " power mike" works great. When useing it on fm the T3 coil may not be tunned corectly i had this on 6/8 i bought when tunned corectly it will work well and should break squelch at .3 or less. The clearfier also changes transmitt frequency +/- 1 to 2 khz keep it centered or it will distort fm. The schmatic is the same (99%) as the radio shack HTX-10. The mag 250 and the 485 as a stand alone radio will hold its own with anything very good radio good move by copper.

Is this radio capable of talkback, And can I use my superstar 458 echo mike on it. How easy is the 11 meter conversion if a person has never done that before ? I was really looking at the TR 296 and Galaxy 949 which has all the bells I need but ran across this little radio at the truckstop for $69.00 refurbished. Thanks For any help.
