I'm just starting to get back into radios, the last timed i keyed a mic was 10 years ago. Now i want to go into Ham, but im undecided about which rig i should get, A Yeasu or a RCI. I've heard good/Bad things about both of them. I want something that is depenable, and can be modded to do 11 meter. (to see if some friends are still around :) One thing i like is Loud talkers (modulation)and good power just from tuning/modding them. I dont like to run amps. one of the older Yeasus i was looking at was the FT-901 (friend has one and loves it) And the RCI i was looking at was the 2990DX Any input from any one would be appr.

Thanks
Falcon

Falcon , If you are true about getting into "HAM" a great radio to look at is the Yaesu FT-847. This radio has everything including HF , VHF , UHF and 6 meters. Take a look at the Yaesu website. http://www.yaesu.com. FT-847
