I think this is funny. Somebody has an RCI 2990 on Ebay for sale that has been TT'd by EEI. I could come up with a story about this one. Somebody wanted to get into the CB hobby and had the money to buy the best. He found a fancy website that promised better than no other. He more than likely bought the whole kit and kabootle from them and has since had problems. Probably didnt get quite the warranty he thought he had and said, screw it I am selling everything. Because not only do you get the radio, but you get the silver aegle, a power meter, and an external speaker too. I dont know, maybe I am looking into it too much.

I ordered a 2970DX a powerMic and a PowerSupply from EEI way back in October 01' and never got any of it. But they charged my credit card $687 the same week I placed the order. EEI is the biggest ripoff on the internet. Everything they
tell you is a Lie, That is if you can even get somebody on the phone. They have the worst customer service of any company I have ever delt with. They need to quit ripping People off.

Chris,

I will answer that for you. The 1st amendmment covers freedom of speech and oppression from the government, and does not apply to the private sector, property or forums.

It would be perfectly legal for myself or the forum master to ban you from speaking here (not likely), but illegal for the government to ban this forum or people from using it.

Chris Yeah its stupid but legal to ban someone from a privately "owned" website. Kinda like an internet trespass warrant.

Chris the freedom of speech is in the constitution. It is the law but its also a bunch of mumbo jumbo according to alot of people. The constitution applies to everything and everyone in america. You have freedom of speech until you offend somone.

If they want they can take out the site with a gig per second. Call a DoS attack

DoS= Denial Of Service.

It can happen.

Not to go off track, but the government has O.C. Connections which are Optical Cable if my memory serves me right.

There are OC-3 OC-12 and OC-48 and OC-192 lines. Massive bandwidth.

OC-3 - 155 megabits per second (100 T1s) Ave. cost $32,000.-$49,000./mo.
OC-12 - 622 megabits per second (4 OC3s)
OC-48 - 2.5 gigabits per seconds (4 OC12s)
OC-192 - 9.6 gigabits per second (4 OC48s)

Some building can have anywhere from 1-5 OC-192 connections.

By the way its all FIBER OPTIC LINES.

All of those are faster than about all home networks. Mine only runs at 100meg.

Anyone heard of a t-1 line? The OC-3 is the same as 100 T-1 lines.

A T-1 line is a high speed digital connection capable of transmitting data at a
rate of approximately 1.544 million bits per second. A T-1 line is typically used
by small and medium sized companies with heavy network traffic. It is large
enough to send and receive very large text files, graphics, sounds, and
databases instantaneously, and is the fastest speed commonly used to
connect networks to the Internet. Sometimes referred to as a leased line, a
T-1 is basically too large and too expensive for individual home use.

A T-3 line is a super high speed connection capable of transmitting data at
a rate of 45 million bps (bits per second). A T-3 line represents a bandwidth
equal to about 672 regular voice grade telephone lines, which is wide enough
to transmit full motion, real-time video, and very large databases over a busy
network. A T-3 line is typically installed as a major networking artery for large
corporations and universities with high volume network traffic. For example,
the backbones of the major Internet service providers are comprised of T-3 lines

A t-3 is 673 times faster than your dial-up connections. hahahah

Chris, Taz, et al,

I happen to be a big fan of the United States Constitution; in my opinion it is what has made the US into the best place on Earth. As an enthusiast I've made some effort to study and understand what our Constitution is and what it does for us.

Although there is much that is confusing and up to interpretation, the right of "freedom of speach" is clear. A person in the United States not only has the right to express an opinion, but the right to express an unpopular opinion or even an offensive one. You still have freedom of speach even after you offend someone.

As Tech181 pointed out, it is clear that this right covers criticism of the government; in fact, supporting documents such as Jefferson's, Franklin's, and Paine's writings illustrate that the intent of the 1st amendment was to specifically allow criticism of the government.

It is when the right of freedom of speach goes beyond governmental comment that the constitutionality of certain speach becomes less clear. Still, the Supreme Court and other governmental agencies have always tended to intrepret the Constitution very generously in this area, and are correct in doing so.

However, the Constitution also provides for personal security in one's home, business, and daily life. Although our "founding fathers" could not possibly anticipate the Internet, the principles they established do allow for a person to develop a Web site and maintain it as he sees fit.

These principles also include an individual's right to limit other persons from accessing or utilizing said Web site. You can ban someone from your Web site just as you can ban someone from your own home. Your right to freedom of speach allows you to set up your own Web site to counter another's, not to impose your opinion on his site.

So EEI was well withing their Constitutional right to ban me and others from their forum. Of course, it may not have been good business practice for them to do so!

Best Regards to all,

Bob

In America you have "rights" as long as it is convenient for the goverment. When your "rights" get in the way of what the feds want what do you think happens to those "rights"?

My wife said if enough people that got screwed by EEI should get together and file a class action suite. That way one lawyer and he would go after those crooks and maybe some will get thier money back. Just look at our credit card charges and nothing shipped to us. They get the money and we get nothing. That's a big case of fraud. I ordered in August of 2001 and kind of wrote it off. Only about $78.00 but it still gets you mad. If anyone is interested in this I'd like to hear from you. I think it takes at least ten people to start one. You can send me your thoughts on this at Have a good day Rich from SE Wisconsin

Well i have done buisness with them in the past. Back in 1999 i ordered a TX Star 667 and i got what i ordered a NEW IN BOX TX star 667! I then later ordered a NEW IN BOX 2990 and i got a new 2990 turbo tuned but i didnt have it long enough to worry about. I sold it for what i paid for it to a local guy who still has it. The transactions i did with them must have been way before they started to get crooked like they have in recent months.... All i can say is they will not get away with their actions because someone or several victims of their actions are/will find ways to get their $$ back if it takes legal action so be it......
I hope you guys that got ripped off all get your $$$ back somehow......

Well this is the first time i've ever visited copper's forum and about the first thing i see is a long thread about EEI.

I've purchased a lot from coppers in the past and have allways been completely satisfied with every transaction receiving what i paid for in a timely fashion , with good customer service. Havent purchased in a couple years though and should have come back to where i allready knew was the best place around.

I happened across the EEI site one day and fell in for all the hooey hooey about their turbo tuning. I up and sent them a 2970 (purchased from copper) for repair and to be turbo tuned. Between the time i sent it and got it back they changed their name to Megatronics allthough from what i gather it's the same people.
Well from what i've been reading at various sites i may be lucky that i even got it back, i did but after this famed turbo tuning it does less than when i sent it in. As far as low end swing , well it will key 1 and swing 2 1/2.....lol

I also made an 80 buck order and been waiting a month. Afterwards i got to looking around their site better and realise they give no phone number for sales or service, in fact no phone number at all. They also have this long spiel about how forgoing phone sales, support, printed catalogs and the such enables the best prices on the net. Yeah right, a little checking shows this to be very untrue. Guess i made a mistake and may never see my 80 buck order. I'm bringin any future orders back to coppers.

Just my 2 cents worth
