What is RF Gain and what does it do ?? I am new to the cb world as you can tell but I am determined to learn all I can about Cb's because it is neat hobby and I can use all the help I can get. thanks, eric in NW MO

The rf gain on a cb radio is for the reception, when you turn it up it will recieve the stations with not as strong a signal, it is good to use this when you are only wanting to talk local, that way you can still hear the nearby stations clearly and the noise will be much less, but when you want to bring in the far away stations, you can crank it up so that you wont have as much trouble hearing them........hope this helps....

Ok,

to reveive at full you keep the rf gain all the way up. all the way is true receive, so if you radio didnt have an rf gain that probably where it would be set.
