Due to certain junior high school deliquents who should be doing their math homework but instead decide to write and disseminate virus', exploits, worms, etc. I will no longer be accepting any E-Mail with attachments.

While I have yet to be infected there were some gallant attempts made. Unfortunately for these pre-pubescent hoodlooms, I didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday and have avoided any problems.

With that said, I will no longer accept any mail with any attachments.

This includes .jpg, .gif, .bmp, .doc, .txt, .mp3, .wav, etc. Feel free to ask any questions you want, and convey any issues to me that you may have. Although if the message does not appear to have a valid subject line, a real E-Mail address, or is larger than a few dozen K, it's gone.

Thanks!

Steve

hey 181 your not alone,i've seen similar posts on other forums about this problem.old#7,peakaboo and a few others have been attacked by virus's,so be careful there's an idiot on the loose.

BTW:This is just my opinion, but some of these computer literits should track this shmo down and do a reverse attack on his computer, and see how he likes it.

I know it ain't you guys. I aint worried about that. Next one I get I will try to see where it REALLY came from. I spent most of my time on the last one trying to figure out the type of virus that was sent to me. Turns out it was an exploit aimed at attacking the Windows NT operating system.

181,
Can't say I blame you on that. A computer PROB' can be a lot more deadley than a 30 PLUS dead-key on AM.

Well, look in the email headders and see the originating ip sddress. Then whois him, then get the email address and the phone number to his local c.o. and speak with him and tell him this person at x:xx at this ip addrss or email address time sent me a file.

I know you have heard this, but dont ever open any email unless you know who it is from. I open emails weather i dont know who its from or not. I got a ups here and can back up my files in a snap. And I also have invested in a good anti virus, panda is good. If you are afraid of being hacked then a router is also a very good investment.

A great ping, scan, whios, trace, quote tool can be get at

Its excellent!

Its virus free. LoL

If you still have this virus send it to me. I like to break the down and see how they are made and what they do.

If you get his ip, let me know. Its easy to DoS somone, as long as your connection is faster.

Send him a virus back!

Haha, its fun.

I am a revenge-repo man. LoL

hehe

Good luck

A little update. Whomever this person is they are targeting CB forums and message boards. Some of the E-Mails I got came from (or appeared to come from) people who have posted on such forums. At any rate, I am still investigating.

You're right Sonoma, a good virus scan takes care of the problem, and a good one has updates almost daily. I had a worm virus sent to me yesterday, but the scan caught it as soon as I highlighted it in outlook express, no problem, no damage. Anyone not running a good virus program is asking for trouble. BTW, I am continually amazed at the amazing Taz, he can even control the internet, just shut you down, if he likes. Your age is showing again Taz. lol

tech 181, i get hit everyday by him. it isn't a who or why question for me. the email addresses are different everyday. and i don't think they are just addresses from forum members, but from past customers of this person. i think that we will soon see this try to be pinned on someone else, and these email addresses will be used as proof. all just to discredit another individual.

or, this clown is just mad at businesses that are still around and at customers/forum members that visit and purchase from these businesses.

or maybe even a little of both. if anyone can prove who it is please post the info, as i would like to see if my gut feeling is right.

I hate to sound hard but ive in the last week had at least 12 attemps to place virus's in my machine through e-mail because of very good virus scanning it was detected without damage. Sick people seam to get a charge out of causing problems for others... i deal with these types all day long ... and untill there is a way to recover damages from them one will have to protect the computer as best you can.

Ok Taz, do your thing. I just got this one today, I'll forward the whole message if you like, virus and all. I traced it, the address that showed was: plumbinginsp@cyberzane.net
The isp number: 208.135.114.2
The registrant for cyberzane.net is: Cybercom Networking, 568 Harding Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701-1726
It looks like Cybercom is the owner of the cyberzane.net.
I got another yesterday, but didn't trace it. I will from now on. I've ordered from Ken's electronics several times in the past. He has parts for the old radios and amps that are hard to find. His site was down for a while not long ago, maybe he was getting hit.

This guy at that ip address (208.135.114.2) is incredably stupid. Or its some kind of server. He has about 10 ports and counting open and I am only at 8% complete of the whole test. These ports include
21
25
106
110
135
143
389
1002
1029
1720
8181
8383
8385
8399

If my computer was like that I would blow it up.

Thats like having tons of signs and all your doors open in your house and then having a pa speaker saying to come right in. One of those ports is netbios and is an extremly criticle port and can be VERY dangerious to have open.

Not to mention every computer has 65,536 ports.
Not 65,535 you for got port 0 if you got 65,535.

and a bunch of other ports. Have any of you possibly signed up to a mailing list that could possibly could have been comprimised and has been infected with virus's?

It might be a guy who has no clue that somone is using his computer as a middle man.

This is what a dos attack can do.

Hah!

I get at least two a day. I get no headers, and all the emails are bogus. I will say this though....

It's an E-Mail worm. It get's into your PC via email and when you run the attachment it automatically infects you and sends an E-Mail out to everyone in your address book. From what I am told it only works wit Microsoft Outlook Express.

It had to come from someone who has Tech181@copperelectronics.com in their address book. So check if your are infected. I believe the virus is the Klez-E worm..

I don't use Outlook, nor do I download any attachments. So when it gets to me, it's done.
