I received a new Cherokee Nightrider 150 last week from Copper. This is an AM SSB radio similar to the Uniden Grant.
I ran an aligned Uniden Grant XL for many years mobile. I shipped it off to have some work done and it was destroyed in transit.
Upon receiving the new radio I installed it and made some comparisons to the Grant that I was used to. These were my findings: 1. The receive was very clear and I had no problem with distance or traffic understanding what was said. I spoke with a unit approximately 9 miles distant, beyond the hills, and asked what it sounded like. The reply was Loud and Very Clear. This was in the afternoon when there is a lot of radio traffic in the area. I feel that this radio exceeds the Grant in many ways.
I would also like to publicly thank 307 for his great help in solving the damaged radio problem with a better unit.
