Hello,
I won an auction for a PDC-700 meter on Ebay for $36. People around my home town think this meter is junk. What do the Copper readers think?
THANKS

Cobra,

What are they using? Chances are it's made by the same people or holds the same design. It's accurate enough for what we do, decently built, and affordable. Unless you are using it for repair or testing of mission critical stuff, it's fine.

They are using Dosy in New Orleans. So people like Mr.B like the Bird.
THANKS

I have the same meter, only mine has the Astatic name on the front--along with Para Dynamics. They work reasonably well (the swr section is very good).

If yours has the lights in it, don't bother using them. They hardly throw any light on the meter face.

They are decent. Most of the guys here were i live all run either Dosys or PDC meters. No one likes the bird because they dont swing..

its fine for cbing.

they dont swing out because they have a much better rf sampling section than cb meters(period) and are not fooled into showing exagerated wattage readings from harmonics.it also depends on what model of bird, some read only rms wattage and some read peak watts but niether will swing like a "modulation" meter.

witch some should run instead of watt meters!

you want to swing a bird you got to have whats required to move it's needle.
