Are there any happy owners of the Superstar 3900 radio? Looks like a nice rig with a few more options than a 148 or a grant for less money. I basically wanted to know about reliability and AM modulation.Thanks...Eddie

I've owned numerous 3900s and have been happy with each. Good AM modulation, loaded with features, great price.

I own one, and so far I'm happy with it. It has loud modulation with the stock mic. Although I'm still going to wire a power mic to it one of these days. Mine dead keys at about 6 watts, and peaks at around 18 watts on AM. For the price, it compares to both the 148, and Grant.

Biged,

I did a review on this radio in the subscriber's section. It has all he mods listed. Yes, for the money, it's a very good radio.

Well, after reading the review on this radio, I am impressed. This sounds like a good deal for the money vs. features. It has the same robust look of the old 148 but with a couple of extras, and for about the same price. I think I know what radio I am going to try next. By the way Tech. 181,How about a review on the General Lee?? Looks like another solid radio. I'll check the forum tomorrow to see if you've done it yet.LOL...Eddie
