Hello Sixkiller505:

I am not sure about this "stargunn" name you mentioned (so maybe you can give us a link or some more info) but there was a guy that made "Mini-Star" 11 meter antennas that were very very small....like 1/8 wave or so...much like the size of a TV antenna or a Ham 2 meter beam....I don't believe they make these any more or that I know of and the website for them is no more either. How would they work you ask?? Well, they would not work very well at all and the gain would be almost nothing at best...I think the largest "Mini-Star" beam was like 8 elements with a 8 foot boom and elements around 2 or 3 feet and the gain was 2 or 3db gain....almost any groundplane on the market will give you much more gain and you will not need a rotor. Let's face it the only way to shorten an antenna and still make it think it is long is to use coils or traps or capacity hats...the more coils/traps/etc the more loss and the more narrow the band space that can be used by the antenna...but these "Mini-star" antennas used neither coils or other methods so it would work poorly. If you are looking for a small 11 meter beam then go with the Mosley Mini Beam MB-11 for CB as I think it is the smallest on the market.....7 foot boom and 11 foot elements...here is a link:

http://www.mosley-electronics.com/citizen_band.htm

Other smaller Beam antennas for 11 meters are the V-quad and Y-quad by Wilson....the PDL-2 by Avanti....the Jogunn Smokin' Gunn 2....these all are small in size if that is what you are looking for and a small cheaper rotor will turn them.

Hope this helped some
Take Care
