Anyone got some info on what the total length is supposed to be for a penetrator 500 base antenna? I'm talking operating on the 27MHZ band?? Manual says 22 feet, 9 1/2 inches but my swr's are 1.5!!

Thats not too bad! I got mine to go down to 1.1-1 1 through 40 but when i let it set in the rain the SWR went up over a 1.5!!! The P 500 is the one and ONLY antenna that ive seen do that ever. yes, i sealed it up and yes, i checked my connections and yes, yes, ( can you tell ive been asked these questions and have done all this stuff before?) i even resoldered my conections and yet i still had a swr that went up regardless if it was raining or if i sprayed the antenna with a garden hose just to see if the SWR changes. I have owned 2 P 500s and they BOTH did this.... Wierd eh? But true!!! Now my avanti sigma 4 and my avanti sigma 5/8 both antennas didnt even flinch when i gave them the ol' garden hose SWR test! LOL

Sounds like you already have a manual but mine says 22' 6". The length excluding the fixed bottom section should be 196". If you need it broken down by section, let me know.
