Im looking at both the Galaxy 88 and Voyage VR9000 and both appear to be the same radio. The only difference so far is that the VR9000 is about $120 cheaper. Everyone says Galaxys scream on the AM but drift on side band. If these two are the same radio, of course I will go the route easier on my wallet. Are there any radio GURUS out there who can help? |

The Tech and read the "VR-9000 write up". It gives you a feature comparison between an 88 and the VR 9000... |

I just got my Voyage VR9000 and I am very Happy I got it and not the Galaxy 88. The 11 meter mod is easy and so is the peek.
VR 1....AM/FM S-Meter
VR 2....SSB S-Meter
VR 3....SSB Squelch Range
VR 4....AM/FM Squelch Range
VR 5.....FM Deviation
VR 7....SSB Carrier Balance
VR 8....RF Meter
VR10...Final Bias
VR11...Driver Bias
VR12...SSB ALC
VR13...AM/FM High Power
VR14...AM Modulation
VR16...AM/FM Low Power
VR20...Final Bias
VR21...TX Offset
and I read someware in this forum that you can cut one end of R249 for the modulation.
