The skip has been awfully strange in my part of Florida recently. Hearing a lot more states such as Ohio, Missouri, Indiana, Pennsylvania, etc. Anyway, I've been talking to most of them until the west coast comes back. Just wondering who may be within earshot of the radio and on what frequency? I'm on 28 am alot local and talk skip a bit on 37 & 38 LSB as "799 North West Florida" (both AM/SSB). Just wondering who else might squeeze in some radio time over the long weekend around other activities?

Dx431,
I'm on most nights between 7 and 10 pm. Expand those times both ways on a weekend. Don't know how quickly this will be posted to the forum, but I switch a lot between the channels above fairly rapidly. Right now the skip has changed between quiet, Austrailia/New Zealand, N. California, spanish skip, etc. I will try throughout this weekend occasionally up on your channel as well looking for you. If the skip is rolling up there I may hang out. A lot of the freeband channels I pick up spanish skip on USB that makes hearing tough. If we can find each other on the radio, we can head to the channel of your choice. Maybe someone else from the forum will show up too? You are gonna love that Lincoln!!!:)

Alsworld,
The skip up here has been quiet for the past few weeks..once in a while I get some faint skip from Ohio, Wisconsin and Indiana......but it is only there for a short while, so have to catch when I can. I have been bouncing around the band between 27.385 to 27.605. Heard some international dx on .555 usb tonite, but no contact. Will have to keep tring..... will listen for ya. Hopefully the dx will be in our favor:)

Well, the UPS truck finally delivered all my Copper stuff on Thursday last week. Went ahead a stood up my new I-MAX 2000. Got My Galaxy Saturn going. But the skip has been terrible over here in Northern Nevada. It's all good if you Habla Espanol', if you no what I mean. A little bit of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolina's over here. Heard some Brazil and Australia in the evening.Very faint though.......Hopefully we'll get that 30db level of noise on channel 19 and get some good skip rolling......... I'm usually on 27.465mhz LSB, go by "501". Give a holler.........73's

Snapperhead, whereabouts in N Nevada? Are the skys dark where you are?I have an awesome large computerized telescope and have been doing research on dark skies in Nevada, seems that central and north Nevada have some of the darkest skies in the nation. My mom and sister live in Vegas so I'm gonna stay a day there and then head on up north for some star gazing and astrophotography. I'll try to raise you today on 465.

Hey Metro, that telescope sounds cool....As far as dark skies, not to dark around here. Lot of lights from city drowning out the night sky. Even though I'm on the outskirts, still pretty light in evenings for star gazing. Boy I hope my Imax don't come down on me. Get some pretty high winds this side of the desert......I'll be sandbaggin on 27.555mhz USB trying to catch some South Pacific DX........73's
