or if you cannot drill a hole in the floor or the wall how do you get your coax into the house?

One easy way is to go down to the local glass shope and get a scrap piece of plastic material called plexiglass. About 1/4 inch would be OK. Drop by Radio Shack on the way home and get a couple of coax connectors and a double female (the kind that has threads on the entire length of the tube).

Using a hack saw or sabre saw with a hack saw blade cut a piece of plexiglass 10 to 12 inches wide and as long as the inside width of your window frame. It should fit inside your window frame snug but not too tight. You want it to be snug without bending. Drill a hole in his piece of plastic pannel (or more than one if you want to bring in more than one antenna) slightly larger than the threaded double female. Install the double female in the hole using the bolts that usually come in the bag. Screw the antenna to the outside half of the female and the jumper to the radio on the interior half.

Slip the plastic pannel into the window. Shut the window tight against the plastic pannel and of course use a screw in the window casing or something else to lock the window shut.

You might have to add a little silicon sealing compound to seal a leaky edge or two. If you want to seal it shut you can get that special sponge rubber foam stripping from the local hardware store.

So when momma says no to holes try the above.

I have my coax running into my basement, wich is where my equipment is. I only have about 10 feet of coax inside the house and thats just for the ability to move it around a bit. I drill a hole behind the J-channel on the siding so that if I were to ever remove it, all I would have to do is seal it up with some silicone and you would never be able to see the hole. This is what I do when it comes to drilling through the floor. First cut an "X" in the carpet where the hole is going to be drilled, fold all 4 flaps of carpet underneath itself so that you can see bare floor. Then drill your hole. When I comes time to remove the coax, simply fold your 4 flaps back and brush the carpet with you hand a watch it magically disappear. Shoulda been a salesman huh?...Eddie

To start with, Why would I ask permission to drill a hole in my own house?
