OK, here's the deal. I have spoken with "various cb experts" and they have all been directing me towards todays Unidens; especially the 68 and 78 models. I am so, so, so close to purchasing a Uniden 78 XLT that I can almost taste it (figuratively speaking). Be honest with me, is it a good investment or not? I'm just waiting on someone to give me nudge or pull me back, one of the two. Sound off boys! |

I was in the same boat you are when it was time for me to make a dicision on a 78 or a Cobra. I went with the likes of everyone on this forum and bought the Uniden. I am very happy that I did. Clean and loud audio. I put the Turbo echo in mine and utilized the ch. 9 switch for the talkback...Eddie |

I just got a older PC-66 a few weeks ago and it works VERY good.Thats the 2nd Uniden I've had.
The first one was a PC-68 but it burnt up but that was I think (ahem)my fault.Anyways,they're a good radio and I think you'll be happy if you get one. |

Is it the pc66-a?
I own one, its blowing smoke.
I got 20 watts out of it with some major time consuming tuning and it deadkeys 3 watts. No I didnt clip the limiter, same transistors.

JSS,
Unidens make darn fine radios. If you search the boards here, you here many of us all brag on the President Lincoln which is almost identical to the Uniden 2510. There are others too. All the boards on the insides are made by Uniden. They are by far an excellent product, even the little Pro 510XL is of superior quality. If you buy one (hopefully not hacked to death), you'll be quite satisfied. |
