If you run power you can't stop it unless you put antenna up 40 ft. and 200 ft. away,if you don't run power, that is no more than 15 watts am or 30 watts ssb, just 40 ft. up should do it.Simple, huh?

A few solutions.....

Item 1....IF you are on a cable TV system call them and tell them you have an RF leak in your cable. They are required under fcc law to keep out RF out of their cable system. OF COURSE if you ran your own cable or if you have an illegal setup it is your problem not theirs.

Item 2...If you run power in any appreciable amount and the antenna is near your TV it is the TVs fault. Todays TVs are simply not adequately shilded. Those Japanese cut costs every chance they get. You could put a High Pass filter at the TV set. It might help.

Item 3...If you are using rabbit ears or an old style TV antenna with that twin lead stuff scrap the antenna and get Cable. Let THEM install every lead to every TV set. Before doing this have someone transmit while you watch your neighbors TV set which is on the cable system to be sure the cable system will benefit you.

Item 4...When all else fails, crank DOWN the mike and turn OFF the amp. Go with four. See if your problem disappears.

Hmmmm, well.

TURN YOUR T.V. OFF!

hehe read part 15 and get into an argument with yourself and beat yourself up. hahahhahaha
Then get a restraining order against yourself.

I couldnt resist..

Ok

the cable company dosent have to do anything. If they decide to do somthing then they will most likly charge you for somone to come out. Its not on the cable companys system its in yours within your house.

I worked for the cable company 5 years ago and one of my jobs was to monitor CLI. Cumulative Leakage Index. In other words egress. I had a handheld device which had a ducktail antenna on it that was sensitive to a certain freq. If I remember right it was channel 20, that was about the middle of the spectrum back then. This thing would start squealing as you were driving down the road if there was a leak from a cable somewhere. The closer you got to it, the louder it would get and the pitch would increase. You would be suprised of how many houses would make this thing just scream. All it takes is a loose fitting, a cut in the jacket, or even a piece of equipment such as a TV, VCR, splitter, or anything that the cable was plugged into. Its usually a simple fix, though sometimes it would require new cable all through the house. If the leak was big enough, beyond FCC limits, the problem had to repaired immediately. If the costomer was not home to repair it, it was totally legit and legal to shut there cable off, leave them a card on the door stating what the problem was, and have them call us back to set up a time that they would be home so we could fix it. 2 times a year, the big wigs would fly a helicopter with this same type of monitoring device and would record the amount of CLI that was in the entire cable system, and again, if the "numbers" were too high, they could legaly shut the whole system down. And one time it happened, they shut us down. ON SUPER BOWL WEAKEND !!! Imagine how teed off people were. Well the whole point to this story is if there is say a small cut in your coax somewhere and it was leaking (egress), it can also act as an antenna a pick up anything floating through the air and mess up your TV. This is called ingress. The best way to determine where the problem resides is to hook a good tv ( Zenith, Sony, etc...) no LXI, or any cheap brand, up to the ground block outside the house where the cable enters the house, then key up, and see if it messes up there. If it does, it is on the cable company to get it fixed. If it does not, then start going to each cable inside the house and check it at every junction. This can be real time consuming and may require 2 people. I hope this helps...Eddie

Sometimes people pi** me *** the voice coils in the speakers contain suficient wraps of wire to equal several wavelengths at 27 mhz,do you get it now, duh.

Just the coils alone won't do it....it has to be detected somewhere before you can hear it. If the signal is getting through the antenna, most likely you will see it in the picture too since the video signal is amplitude modulated. But it could be coming in at the audio driver because of poor sheilding and bypassing. Some TV's have this problem just due to design, if so, hard to stop.

Where the speaker wires go into the speaker you can use ferrite filter chokes by wrapping the speaker cable numerous times around the choke just as it goes into the speaker. You can also do this as the speaker wire leaves the amplifier.

Could be coming from the amp itself. That would be the detector source. If the ferrite chokes don't completely rid you of the signal, you may also have to bypass it with capacitors along with the chokes. Theater amps are very bad for this. Some even receive local commercial broadcast stations along with CB. Try filtering and bypassing and see if this helps.

Careful with the caps, you can dump your sound to, use .01 mfd caps.I used snap together data line ferite chokes from rad. shack, seven altogether worked great.
