What is the diferences in all these radios and in everybody's humble opinion, which is the better of the three. The only difference I know of is the RF gain on the 2510 is RF power on the lincoln. I cant see any differences between the 2600 and the other two. If I remember correctly, I read somewhere that the 2600 is a little more difficult to chipswitch. I am still partial to Galaxy's...Eddie

I have owned all three. The HR2600 was the best . The Lincoln needs a RF gain I still have 3 2510,s and a Lincoln I would like to get another 2600 |

The Lincoln has a bigger final (a little more power out) the 2600's have to be chipswitched for 11 meters and the 2510's & Lincolns don't. The Galaxys will be a -little louder than the 2510/2600/Lincoln's but not by much. If you talk SSB, The 2510/2600/Lincolns win HANDS DOWN |

I currently run a HR 2600 and love it! For some reason it swings harder than any 2510 ive ever come acrossed. Dont know why but it seems to! :-) Overall its a great rig! |

if you like that family of radios try to get an emperor 5010 radio. easier buttons and larger maybe a lil display. i run these and i love them . i sold my 2510,2600, and my lincoln to a guy who loves them hopefully as much as i did. this is an awesome family of radios and i tells ya a lincoln is loud with a d104 handmike. i use this mike on the whole family and they are loud! get one youll see. later good luck. |

I use a night eagle on my 2510 and it is very loud and clear. This radio is so easy to understand on the recieving end. I have been considering trading it for a Galaxy, maybe I should hang on to it...Eddie |

If you like the fills of the Galaxy, echo, talkback, etc. then that would be a good radio, but if you would rather have a radio that out talks most radios on SSB, then I would keep the 2510. I have a Lincoln and a 2510 and wouldn't give them up for a whole box of Galaxys.Just my opnion. |

IMHO Galaxy radios are good if you like to talk AM but they arent that practical on SSB because they tend to drift a lot.. At least the ones i knew of did anyways. |

When the 2510 came out in the mid 1980s, I thought it was the perfect radio, however I was talking on SSB most of the time then. Later when the galaxy radios came out, I tried them and in my opinion, they were much better if you used AM and SSB. I've never had the drift problem with the galaxys I see people talk about, the frequency display will change as it warms up, but the TX and RX is very stable. I had not thought about the difference until this discussion started, for some time. So, since I have both, today I decided to test them. I just put a picture in my profile that was made at 4:30 pm today, the skip was rolling real good from North Carolina. I have 4 radios hooked to a 5 position coax switch, a Galaxy Saturn, Galaxy 88, 2510, and one of my Brownings, a Mark III. I was on 26.885 AM, and switched between the radios for about an hour. The Saturn was easily the best receive, the 88 was close, the Mark III was receiving close to the Galaxys, but had a little more noise to signal ratio. The 2510 AGC was not as good, the strong stations were too loud, the weak ones needed more volume. The big difference, and one I had forgotten, was bleedover, some big dog, down about 10 channels from 26.885 was redlining me, I would lose him on the galaxys in about 4 channels, but the 2510 was getting him 10 channels away on bleedover. The skip fell out before I could check them on SSB, but I will later. That's the way I heard'em, another set of the same radios might be different, but thats the only way to get a good test, put'em on the same antenna, at the same time. Ain't cb'ing fun, ha. |

Thanks to all who replied. I realy like this 2510, but I still like my Galaxy's better. I may end up putting it on ebay to help fund a new Galaxy or a Connex 4800 dxl. If there are any owners of both of these radio's, which one do you like better? Galaxy or 4800? Eddie |

Scrapiron........I have a 2510, and, I don't get near the bleadover on it as I did with some of the other radios I have had. I live right along the hi-way and I get alot of truck traffic through town and I don't here the drivers talking with their Cobra 29's clipped and tuned to the hilt,( ya know those bull haulers have to have thier echos, haha)It's by far the best radio I have ever owned. ( Next to my Lincoln )

431 your right about the bull haulers and chicken haulers using the echos and extended beeps. They could leave the roger beeps and echos out of the radios for my part, but then i'm old and grouchy, ha. In remembering back to when I used the 2510s more, it seems they were a lot better on SSB than Am with the bleedover. I've still got them all hooked up, and will try again when the loud skip is rolling. I don't get enough loud local talkers to check them here where I live, in north Arkansas. In some radios, the noise blanker will open them up for bleedover. The old Johnson Viking 352D, which I think was one of the best 23 channel AM and SSB radios made, had the NB problem, if you used it while on SSB, you could hear all 23 channels at once. haha |

I tried to buy a 2510 and couldn't get one... truly a great radio, hams love 'em too. I opted for the next best thing,... a Lincoln and got one brand new. I use a D104 Night Eagle and this rig smokes. If you can't get or find a 2510, get the Lincoln. Most want to know what I'm talking on because I have had many tell me that I sound as if I'm sitting next to them!, (barefoot baby!) The Lincoln has great ears too. Just make sure the rig is lined up on freq. when you go SSB.
