Found a raker 4 for 50.00 at a yardsale. It is almost 100% complete other than the wires on the backdoor. ive ranned solid stranded wire n the ones ive had but ive heard the braided is better to use. What is the favored kind? Stranded or solid?

You can get the replacement wire from copper and or Antenna Specialist plus any other parts you may need.

I agree with Bruce. It makes no difference in its use as a reflector.

I would suggest though that you call or contact the manufacturer to get the specs as to recommended diameter of the wire.
