Here is a little something something I found for yall 2970DX people. This trick will allow you to access frequencies 18.9650 MHz - 35.4050 MHz.

It works on my 2970DX with the 24-32 MHz mod.
I have not tested it on any other RCI DX model.

Steps:
[1] Press [PRG]
[2] Press [SPLIT]
[3] Select frequency offset
[4] Press [ENT]
[5] Press [SPLIT] to select a + or - offset
[6] Press [MAN]
[7] Select a cb channel 1 - 40 from which to offset from.
[8] Key mic tx button
[9] Press [MAN]
[10] Press [SPLIT] until neither + or - appear.

Using this method, you can access anything from:

26.9650 MHz - 8.0000 MHz = 18.9650 MHz
to
27.4050 MHz + 8.0000 MHz = 35.4050 MHz

But it is advised that you transmit within a couple MHz from what it is currently capable.
