Well I did it!!! I had some time on my hands and put a 2nd final in my Melaka!!! It really wasnt that hard. I put a 1969 in it and all the support parts to go along with it,
I also put in the swing mod. I also ran 12volts to the mirror board.
Radio does 50 watts now and has big swing. I can set the dead key on about 2 1/2 and it will swing to 45 with no prob.
Can anyone tell me how to restore the whole 10meter band while keeping the bands that I have??

OK I am working on a write up on it and will try to post it as soon as I can.
I have some pics of the mods but I dont know how to post them!!!
Can someone tell me how to do it??

radio shack IS worthless!! Everytime i go there and when i do find parts the salemen all try to sell me either a cell phone or some sort of stuff i dont care to have... |

LOL! Some dont and they give you this stupid "sorry sir we dont carry this and that but we can order you this and that" deal. NO!! I want it -NOW- not in 2 weeks!!! HA! Or after they tell you that they try to sell you something dumb and useless like a golf scope or a digital thermometer! I hate radio shacks...... |

LOL I have no use for a $19.95 golf scope i dont even golf!!! I go to a local electronics wholesale house and get all my parts from them. Those guys that work there hate RS just as much as i do... |

Those guy at rat shack some dont even know how to key up a mike! Most of them all are on comission and only care about one thing. sell sell sell..... Now some of the radio shack dealers are ok. I know of one that used to sell Cobra and Uniden CB radios in the very back of the store and radio shack stuff in the front. The guy that used to run the shop was a CBer and a ham too!! :-) |

I went to my local radio shack a few years ago and another guy was in there asking if they sold amplifiers for CB! LOL! They tried to sell him a stereo amp and thats when i stepped in to clear the air about the situation. No i never mentioned they were illegal and all i just told the 2 guys that the stero amps were NOT FOR A CB!!! HA! |

hhhmmm, there are 2 radio shacks(not company owned) not so far from me(both about 50-75miles from each other) that if you asked about a linear, they would pull you a price sheet from under the counter. they also sale rci, galaxy, cobra, and about any others that you want. but if any of this breaks, well you're own your own. maybe its a southern r.shack thing. as for the immediate local r.shack(company owned), yes they are all retards when it comes to anything rf or electronic component related. |

LOL!!!! I wish we had a few like that around here in the midwest but i guess its that typical midwest conserative school of thought. Oh well i guess thats what Coppers and a few other places are for. yeah if you ask them anything technical they will look at you funny for a second and then try to sell you a $19.95 golf scope as their answer.. HAHAHA!! |
