Bruce, you gotta be kidding, right? No SSB, no freq counter, no split for repeater, no clarfier, channels are probably on '5' instead of even. It would be a nice AM CB though.

...definately different with the mic plug in the FRONT middle like it is ( if I am thinking of the right model galaxy )...i do wonder why most radios have a cb/pa switch on them, 99 out of hundred folks will never use the PA function in the lifetime of the unit..also why not let the lights on the front of the radio ( LED channel readout, meter lights ) go blank after say 15 - 30 seconds of being ON, tap the channel knob and they come back on..less light bulb wear and less lights and glare at night...the technology is available, it is just a matter of getting the manufacturers to make use of it..also get all of the manufacturers to use a COMMON 4 - 6 pin mike locking plug, instead of these 5 pin realistic type, the 6 pin RANGER type, the 4 - pin uniden cobra type and have all mike plugs basic design to use the same MIKE wiring situations..pin 1 for transmit...pin # 2 for audio...pin # 3 recieve ground...pin # 4 mic ground...etc ...shucks all companies use antenna connectors the same ( so - 239 / pl 259 )..let all of them use the same mike plug and POWER plugs, too...or are my ideas too simple ?.....BIG FOOT

If it had SSB included i think it would be a worthwhile radio.

The 93T will be out shortly that has the SSB, counter, and locked/unlocked clarifiers.
Two things I don't like right off the bat... don't care for radios (non-amateur) with built in amp transistor(s), and the cheesy names.

Just again my opinion but i remember a ford that came out in the 50's that was as well thought out hummmmmm.

Barefoot thats exactly what i saw when i looked at the add " walk the walk" who ever came up with that was just plane STUPID First place you can buy a ranger 2950 for less and have alot more radio now if this had had contunous tunning from 28 to 29.7 and am/fm with offsets well that might have flown.... will someone please shoot the engineer before he comes up with another idea like this LOL.

You got it Barefoot, same as all these other so called 10 meter radios, they were marketed toward the CB'ers that want more than a 40 channel radio, and are a way for the companies to get around the FCC rules. I don't see any ham operator running one of them very long, maybe for a starter radio. Why would he put that much money in a one band radio, when a nice hf rig with full coverage can be bought for not much more. Even if his license doesn't privilage the other bands, surly he would want to listen, or be ready for upgrade.
The DX 48T would be a nice rig for a CB'er that doesn't care for SSB, and wants some extra power without running an amplifier, such as a driver that has to change rigs. With the 2-2290s it should talk +100-150 watts. Of course you could also buy a cheaper export with a small amp for the same money. I bet there will be a good market for DX48T.

How about radios using the newer white light emitting LEDs for meter lights- they never burnout.
