Would like to hear from anyone that has had, or is using this amp. I ordered mine from the auction and will be here in a few days.......

Going to use my 257 magnum and the boomer in my rx7.

Need to pick up a fairly good but inexpensive meter and perhaps a Wilson 5000 antenna.

Later
Oli :) :) :)

I have a Boomer 600 and have'nt had any problems with it. I dont drive it very hard and only use the low position, and have never put a meter on it to actually see what it is doing. But I'm satisfied.

Good luck, Chainsaw

OLI your going to love that AMP it will show up as a Palomar 450 but same finals my friend had to go buy a Astron RS70M cause his RS35M wouldnt do it but with that RS 70 it was putting out 420 watts on a ParaDynamics meter into a IMAX 2000 so i think its close enough

it draws 38 amps on the meter on the Astron so if your going to buy a power supply at your work get a big one LOL

chuck

if you put that high of an input into the amp you will have to order another one real soon.

I smell the smoke already...

On low power on the amp......with a one watt input from the radio.....i deadkey 30 and swing to 200 watts....

something to think about - I can get the same swing to 190 with the little klm 351/p, its only a 2 pill amp.

its not deadkey thats a factor (kinda) you need a swing of at least 4:1.

note: a high drive amp doesnt mean you can drive it with a larger watt setting.

Ohhhhh and that post above about 600 watts from a paradynamics meter. Those are generous about 200 watts above others. A true reading would be about 380-400 output on a bird, radio shack, or astatic meter.

Oli,the boomer is a enjoyable boot.I have one,and I swear by it. It is a am boot, but if you are careful you also can use it on ssb. I don!t recomend it but you can.On am though it is one hell of a boot. I have had mine for three years now,and I haven!t had any problems To tell you the truth mine performed so well on am that I never felt the need to find out what it was doing in reference to watts. I hope you are getting an ant.that has as open coil so that it can breath. The wilson is a ant. from the past. The enclosed coil is subject to cost you money. You don!t want an ant. that runs hot.
