This is a note to all of the KLV Amplifier owners as well as want to be KLV Amplifier owners. I have heard so many people that are "happy" with a KLV and then some saying workmanship or quality lacks in building them. I have one thing to say....I have a KLV-500 , I love it , I take care of it and it works great. I don't beat it. I also have a Yaesu VL series amplifier for HF. I also paid "$3600" for it. It has gold inside. If you want to complain thats fine but remember , if you want gold , pay for it. If you want a few hundred watts..Spend the $189.00 and hush up....

10-04 307 well said!!! As long as you are happy thats what matters. It always bugs me when someone will see a radio or something i have them as me "what did you pay for it" well to me thats a rude thing to ask so i usually will tell them very nicely "thats none of your buisness"!!!

307,

don't know what got you fired up but them KLV amps are sweet! Real clean, no rise in SWR's, treat'em right and they are great! No bleedover between channels (of course that could be radio dependant). Great amps for the price very hard to beat.

Old Psycho here has a klv1000 and I dont have one complaint. I run that thing hard, and it takes it. With about 15w max in put i will swing 1000. As for the quality, all I get is compliments on the air, except from those mud ducks who I cant hear most the time. When I do hear them there all fired up, something about me steping on them. I also have simalar klvs all with no problem. Infact the only amp I have a problem with is my Klv350, for some reason on high the relay will sometimes stick. So when I un key, the damn thing keeps keying anyway. Ill toy with that some day. I do have a kl400 mobile that a HF, if your reading this 307, can you convert that thing? Let me know.

I have a KLV 200/V that easily does what the manufacture claims it will do on AM. The only problem I had with it was it blew a tube about 4 months after I got it, but it could have just been a bad tube as I've had no problems since installing a replacement.

One question, is the fuse inside a fast blow or a slow blow? I replaced it with a fast blow, but if that's the wrong type, i'll change it.
