TRY CHECKING YOUR AUDIO CHIP. TURN YOUR RADIO ON AND FEEL IT TO SEE IF IT GETS WARM, OR IF YOU HAVE A METER, CHECK IT WITH IT.

Ok thanks,I'll check a few things in it....bruce,
if I do have any noise I have to turn the volume up wide open to hear any static at all and it still makes the little "bump" sound whenever you
turn the squelch up.But other than that it makes no noise.

Ok lets start with this check the mike to see that you did not break a wire some radios if you lose the ground ( sheld ) will not transmit or recive
THEN if you have another cb set try transmitting in the same room that could prove or disprove crunches thory a valid one
Then check the copper catalog for whats on sale ( KIDDING )
ok let us know if this helps
