And nobody mentions the Radio Shack TRC-459? It was two-thirds computer and one-third radio. Couldn't get channels into it for love or money.

IMHO the Emp 5010 was the biggest POS ever made i had 2 of them and they had the worst audio on AM i ever heard!!! A Cobra 25 LTD classic could outtalk the 5010!! Ill keep my president HR 2600 and 2510s....

Oh, and if you ever accidently hook a 5010 up backwards well, youd better dig a nice hole in the ground about 6' deep cause that radio will never be the same ever again!! I hooked up mine to my HR 2510 power cord not knowing the polarities were switched by the manufacturer and blew the holy heck out of my 5010. They dont use polarity diodes like most radios and my 5010 was fixed but it was nOT the same as it was before i blew it up.. I ended up selling it for 100.00 because it was basically junk in my eyes...

Hoosier, you wanna talk POS? Try the SS4900B. The worst radio I had ever purchased. The RX was poor and the audio was nothing to right home about. Half of the buttons on the front panel wouldn't work. All it would do is beep at ya. One day I keyed up the radio, had lots more swing, but no adjustemt in carrier and the RX was gone. Had it fixed, but, now it doesn't have half the power it had when I first purchased the radio. By far the worst radio I had ever owned. It still sits in the box. Contenplating the idea of sitting it out here in the middle of the hiway and letting traffic take care of it for me. hahaha

I second the SS4900B.Unstable on ssb, reciever useless above 29.5,flimsy and poor workmanship.
