Slim, Also what price range are you looking at?

There are a lot of good Mobile's out there in many different price ranges. It all depends on what options you are looking for in a mobile.

Also if you are going to leave it "STOCK" or want it Peaked & Tuned for the Max in performance.

...midland mobiles ( nearly any model ) and fancier mobiles of UNIDEN were always the quietest with reference to motor noise...realistics and cheap cobra were the noisiest in relation to motor whine/noise...no info on gaylaxys or ranger in the vehicle.....BIG FOOT

bigfoot my ranger was useless my 959 not any better noise blanker wise the titan 485 works as good as any and the blanker dosnt degrade the audio and its a $100 radio now i added a modified 10.695 filter built on a channel guard and a channel guard 455 khz filter which makes it REAL narrow for FM ( 2 filters in the radio) with -20dbm into the ant there is NO signal at +/- 20 khz and the noise floor is -123dbm on FM so it is plenty for a moble radio. A good radio out of the box for the money made better !

to me the best radio on the market is the cobra 148F I've had a few cobra radios for many years and I've also had a 148 older model before the 148F even came out.

and I have friends that have them and they tell me there's nothing better, maybe the next radio I get might just be a 148F.

...bruce...YOU are right...but I never put a ranger in my vehicle, it is just a " clash" to put a ranger radio inside a YUGO...just a "culture clash"...some thing similer to puting a "real cheap radio "( YOU furnish the brand and model ) inside of a cadillac eldorado, new 2003 model....BIG FOOT
