what do i need to look for my predator 10k is geting hot the swr are 1.3 to 1.4 the amp is grounded everone here say it sound real good,thanks alot.

i dont have a prob with it being a 10k i like the antenna i have a prob with it geting hot i have five more antennas they all get hot.i did know they was geting hot untill now.

...102 inch STEEL whip, will work fine...tried some other ideas ( been there, did that )...102 inch whip is LONG, but nothing to tear up...BIG FOOT

I thought all antennas got hot if you ran extra power (200 watts and up) through them??

why do you care if it warms up that makes cooking dinner easier just slide a couple hot dogs on there and you can talk on the radio and cook at the same time

if keying up make a antennas get warm or hot that one thing ,but if some thing is not right then i want to fix ,you can cook dinner on your antenna if you want to but if it not working i want it fix ,that all ,but from what i have hear on here it is working just fine.

well.... if you put 16000 watts threw a 10000 watt antenna hmmmmm.is it possible that antenna is supposed to be voltage fed and yer current feeding it,i believe thats y they use 18 feet of coax,the ant base is at a voltage node,and the other end of coax is at a current node sort of,for connecting to 50 ohm connector.
