Hello, I want to get my friend GTO to install a robot board on my Galaxy Base Station. He said that people on the radio do not want to hear all those sounds and that I will have nobody to talk to if I use it. What do you guys think about it.

I agree with GTO. People do not want to hear all that crazy stuff. Just talk on your radio with your human voice and everybody will be happy.

just my .02 cents but noise makers don't have a place on the frequencies. I've got to say GTO is correct. Nothing personal Bro but I won't respond to someone making noise. When no one comes back to you, it ends up being an aggrivator out of frustration.
From my perspective, we would rather hear your voice and talk. That is what two way communication is all about.

IMHO the robot board is the biggest waste of $$$ you can think of in regards to CB gear well, outside of the swing kits, antenna matchers and the superstar 4900B!!!!!! |

Save your money, GTO is correct they are a waste. I have a GalaxyDX99V and it has the robot feature and I don't use it. People seem not to like it, the echo is fine if you don't have it wide open like some people do but the robot and voice changer are a waste! Just my .02 cents...

Whats wrong with match boxes. With the very wide freq ranges of todays radios why not be able to get that good match? Most antenna wont cover that wide range without some help with adjusting the swr.
Its thier money let them "waste" it if they want!!! |

COBRA, Keep it in the swamps, noise toys are loud, its like certain people from different countries who use Roger beeps and echo, it seems they can't talk without them, you can always tell where the skip is from when you first turn your radio on, I to have a roger beep, an echo, a sonic knoise, a machine gun, a garnade launcher, etc, they were in the 70's, when they were used for fun, most had some, times have changed a little. |

I have a REVENGER, noise box, on it it has a DEATH RAY, FRONT MACHINE GUN, and a GRENADE LAUNCHER. I really like it and use it often late at night ,I like all the fancy lights it has when they flash and sound off, I can't understand why my wife gets so mad, it is under my pellow.? |

Karatebutcher, I guess its according to when you set that thing off at night, it could be distracting at times. heheh
Some of those noise toys have been around a while. The first one I remember was the 'twitty bird'. Lots of people mounted it in the base of their D-104, with a little push button on top of the base, man that thing was loud. |

Lon, I think ol Mark needs to double up on those pills, maybe he could get a little more aggressive and win a race again. He grew up here not for from where I live, he was hell on wheels on those old dirt tracks all over Arkansas. |

Well,
I won an auction for a cool Robot Board and when it came in my dad took it from me because he told me not to get anything from Ebay anymore. I guess it was not for me. Maybe he will give it back when I get my grades in.
