Hey 10ring For what its worth if you believe my Astatic 600 my 1000 swings about 775 to 800 on am. I have checked it with my Astatic and a PDC 600 a friend of my dads has and they both read in that range clean and clear.

say hey on the klv 1000s.. ive got both the 5 tuber and the 4 tuber.. the 5 tube gets its drive from my 2527, that dks 21/2, swings to 40.. it drives the 5 tube, which has the 6kg6a tubes in it, on low keys 125 swings to 500, on 2nd, dks
175 swings to 850, and on high it dks 300 swings to 1100. now the 4 tuber has the selvetas select
tubes in it, and i use a 2995 to drive it. the radio is set to dk at 12 watts swings to120, on low it dks 150 swings to 650, in 2nd, it dks 250 swings to 900, and on high, dks 325 swings to 1300+. this is using a DE2000 meter, that has been
extra checked by Mr dozy himself!! so far this has been my experance with klv amps.. at one time ive had them all, but sold or traded till im down to the 4 and 5 tubers and the 2 pill 550.. in my needs, these 3 amps take care of what i want to do
my nickle tells me to shut up, im just going on and on!!!!

say hey hc, as far as tubes go, my freind and i have seen what looks to be 3 classes of tubes for these amps. the 509, or 519s are to me the lower end of the tubes, next there are the 6kg6a,s, they seem to be alittle better tube, then there are the selveta selects, russian built, bad to the bone tubes!!!!!!!!!! any tube set you get, ask for a match set. they seem to do better.
ok, alittle power rating we got on our tubes of different types, ya i no there all suspose to be the same, but dont you believe it?? ok, on the 509, 519, using a 2 watt dk, swinging to 40==
on low about 500+ on 2nd about 700 t0 750, on high
around 900+.. on the 6kg6a, on low about 600, on 2nd around 800, on high 1000+., ok with the selveta selects== on low 750, on 2nd 900+, on high
an easy 1400. these figures are from 2 setups on am, and using a dee 2000 meter, and a dozy 4001p..
although there is alittle gain here and there, ya i no, between the 509s and the select, there is hardly any change in someone hearing, as ive been told??? but we have seen and heard commets, from to many pepole to not believe that the selevetas are the way to go!!!!! for me, the only way!!!!
these tubes mite be avaible here or rf parts, for the selects, its up to you to use, if you want my experance, with these different tubes!!! my oh my,
the nickle says ive used it up.. lol

What is the best way to run a 2980 and the KLV-1000 together also will it hurt to run the driver on the KLV-1000 at less than full power.

Stepchild,

yes both the KLV1000 and 1000P are tube amps.

The 1000 has 5 tubes with a 4-8W input.
The 1000P has 4 tubes with a 60-100W drive.

Yep the tubes come with it when purchased.
