coppers has this radio they look awsome have any of ya tried this radio out or own one.i want to know if its as good as the old 2970

I like it better than the 2970. This is the "big" mobile they should have sold in the first place. If you like the computer features on the 2970, like scan, memory and such, go for it. The 6900 is a simpler "Channel switch and LED" radio with fewer parts to break down. Truck drivers have found that the fewer parts in the radio, the longer it takes them to rattle loose and break down. If you plan to use it on a power supply as a base, it's a smaller difference. I think the receiver in the 6900 is a little better at rejecting bleedover. Since "bleedover" comes in MANY flavors, another reasonable person might decide the 2970 rejects it better, in their personal experience. Receiver performance has a lot to do with the surroundings where you run it.
