Well a local here has a mobile Superstar radio that she calls a 3900 turbo. She said its four years old and that it has a frequency counter built in with upper and lowers and that she had a roger beep installed since it didn't have one. I have not seen the unit yet but I am very curious about it since I have never seen a Superstar with a built in Frequency count. Can anyone provide any info about this radio and worth? She is asking $200 which I won't mind paying if it is a rare radio.

The Superstar HP GOLD Turbo does have a freq counter built in, and dual finals, I believe. It's not necessarily "rare", but they went for around $300 RETAIL new. If it is in good shape, not hacked, it's probably worth the $200

That Superstar is similar to the old Galaxy Pluto. A typical Copper price would be around $269, If it's in excellent condition with no problems $200 would be fair, but then again the Voyager 9000 is $169 or so. With that in mind maybe $140 would be a fair used price.

I agree with Tech671. I'd go for the Voyager anyway. The part where she had a roger beep installed after the fact makes me cringe.

My bad for hotlinking...and those folks need to get a good paid web host ;-)
