Hi!

I did this mod last night. This rig really does well with this mod.

However, at the end of the modification, where you adjust VR16, I can't seem to get the deadkey adjusted up to 1.5 - 2.0 W when the RF knob is turned all the way counter-clockwise (low side RF). My radio just stays at .6 Watts dk when the RF knob is turned all the way counter-clockwise. When I turn the RF knob clockwise, the RF wattage goes up fine, all the way clockwise to 7 watts dk. Is this acceptable?? I don't mind the low deadkey at all on the low side for running some sneakers. The radio swings really well, all the way up to 40-45 watts when you whistle into the mic.

VR14 adjsutment doesn't seem to do much for my radio modulation at all. I can't see a noticable difference in my audio when adjusting this pot.

I also get a little "hum" noise (RF??) when I key up,... is this the talkback doing this??

Please advise. THANKS!

the items you talk about are normal for the vr9000.a few of us have them.as for the hum noise turn off the frequency counter and see if you still have it .if so go to the galaxy web sight and add the capacitor to the freq counter they say cures the hum.it did mine.
