As for OLD Tube Type compaired to NEW go with the NEW for sure.

I feel you would be much happier with any of the newer Amps. They take less space, Most have good Pre-amps in them. And are very dependable.

Check out the KL amps that COPPER has listed and I am sure you can find one you like and one that will fit your needs at a resonable price.

And please check out / read the reviews under the Subscriber section here in the Forum.

Steve Tech 181 has done a great Review on the KL-40 and the KL-300.

Just my thoughts!

as far as real world copper sells good ones you dont hear much griping about them if i was a cber wanting a highpower amp i would get a ham amp ...... just my opinion

Uh, as far as MOBILE power is concerned, tubes are at a real disadvantage. Tubes in the mobile tend to be power hogs. You will get more RF power per watt of VEHICLE power with transistors. It's that simple.

2600 you meen it takes power to heat filiments intresting idea but your right there is no logical reason to use tubes in a 200 watt amp.
