when I received this radio it had no tx or rx. I soldered some joints an now I have tx an rx, but when I press the key I get a high dead key an it squeals

im assuming its the mic. try rewiring it or try a different one.

TAZ appreciate the come back. found the solution to the squeal. I kept pressing the board on the component side, every thing returned to normal. I tighten the three screws an the unit is working properly. Thanks

tristar 120:has a 2 watt deadkey, but when you try to audio into it,deadkey drops back an the audio gets garbled. changed the final,got same results.

Retune the final matching coil,the last one with a slug in it,if that don't work then possibly your main modulator transistor is shot.
