OK GOT Your Attention!

Does anybody hear many women out there on the bands?... besides CH.19 drivers. I have heard about 4 females (feminine-voice characteristics at least, hehehehe) that are locals around me but RARELY do I hear them shooting skip. I guess CB is just a guy thing??

Just wondering,....

Treeclimber, there are not two many woman radio persons out there, every once in a while you hear one calling , on her husbands base radio, to ask what he want's for dinner, they should all be busy cleaning house, cooking, and takeing care of their KIDS. not to mention to rub her husbands feet at the end of a hard day,

Karatebutcher,

I really hope you are kidding with your comment's.

I cannot believe in this day and age that you would be serious with your archaic views on women.

I have been involved in Radio's for well over 28 years now.

Do I talk on "HIS" base to ask him what he want's for supper. I DON'T THINK SO!

If he is gone or away he can call me from his mobile and he might ask me what I would like for Supper or if I felt like cooking something.

And I would answer him on MY RADIO!

I have always had my Radio's that I liked and he has always had his.

We have raised 7 children and have plenty of grandchildren.

House Cleaning? YEAH RIGHT again! If he messes it up he better Clean it up.

We have an agreement he takes care of the Radio Shop and I take care of the House.

I got married to share my life "Not" to be someone's SLAVE.

I have my own Base and Equipment and he has his.

Our marriage is 50/50 in LOVE / LIFE / HOME / and BUSINESS / and raising our kid's, along with Paying Bills and along with the COOKING.

BUT! the one thing that we do not share is OUR RADIO EQUIPMENT.

In MY New truck I have a VR9000 and in MY 1996 Impala SS (7000 miles) I have a Cobra 63GTL.

Both have Wilson 1000 White Mag Mount's.

MY! Base Radio is a Texas Ranger 696F SSB Base with a SILVER SALUTE Base Mic all from Copper.

His Base's are a Ranger 2995DX with my "OLD" Silver Salute Desk Mic. (The Forummaster know's what I mean by old) and whatever he has hooked up at the time.

His Mobile's are a Ranger 2970DX and a VR9000 also with Wilson 1000's Mag Mount's.(Black)

I am on the Radio most days around 6 or 7 hours as he is always here on the FORUM.

Rud his Feet sure, and when I am done it is his turn to rub mine.

When he was in a Cast from his hip to his ankle, I even got up in the bucket with him to help put the beams up.

There is no "I" in our marriage it is "WE"

I stand by on channel 22 AM / 27.225
My Handle is: 1st SARGANT.

SINCE THE FORUMMASTER IS SO NICE I REALLY HAVE NOT SAID EXACTLY WHAT I THINK.

BUT I AM SURE YOU CAN FIGURE IT OUT!

I also enjoy reading this Forum and most of the comment's / Question's.

And this post really made me laugh!

THESE ARE MY VIEW's not my Husbands.

Sign me!

Gosh remind me not to get HER mad! HA HA HA Shirley I can vouch for the fact both in Electronics and HAM radio we do have a fair number of ladies. Like minonorties there are not enough yet but the numbers are growing as these 2 groupes become more involved ...... in my electronice class there were NO females 40 years ago but today they outnumber men in some schools.
My wife is tolerant but has no intrest in radio but likes the computer stuff and after 20+ years is suportive of what i do... like you said its WE.

Anyway, my wife and I got a chuckle.

Karatebutcher,

See that is what I mean. You need to become more active in the Kitchen with your wife 50/50.

You may know Radio's but your cooking skills need help.

I tried your RECIPE you listed above.

WORST BATCH OF HUMBLE PIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!

But Thank's

I accept your peace offering.

sk1 we have been married 21 years and i learned many years ago the best way to have happyness is never go to bed yelling unless the house is on fire. The other thing is to tell her no and give her the CHARGE card.

Bruce, nice comment, but all I do is say nothing, but wait until I have to say something and say what I feel and how it should be, if she likes it or not, and then when she comes home it is all out of my system,

Oh I see, I remain quiet and you want to drag me in on this one? Thanks Karatebutcher!! hehehe

Actually, to answer the orginal question, I hear few female skip shooters but we have some local talkers. Most are older who get on the radio in the evenings here but have many years of experience. I know of a few females who love CB radio, but generally it seems dominated my men.

I speak nothing negative about female CB'rs or ham radio operators, but from this end, that is just what I hear via the airwaves. Besides, my wife of 18 years (in 4 days) is much more content with me in the house drinking a cold brew talking smack on the radio with guys than what else I could be doing. I try to convince her that CB radio has saved our marriage. Okay... that didn't work on her either but UPS did deliver a new meter from Copper today compliments of my wife. Hmmmm... I talk nationwide but the wife always knows exactly where I am at and what I am saying??? Maybe I should just agree with Bruce and say "yes Dear", who knows, more toys???? We men are so simple with our toys but aren't they cool?

Hey Sarge, to keep the peace, you should buy that kind sweet Tech808 an wonderful offshore Fishing Boat and send him down to us on the Gulf coast. We'll keep him out of trouble for sure. But if you insist, we can round up some of these Florida beach bunnies in bikinis just to ensure our trip does not discriminate against the sexes :). Fairness to all is our motto!

Karatebutcher, Ok, you dragged me in too. You know this is your fault. j/k ;) I wasn't married as long as y'all, but in the ten yrs I was married before my wife passed on, I did learn a few things. Never go to bed angry, good communication, and YES DEAR! I could go on, but, thats another forum. hehehe

HoosierCardinal My wife thinks worst than that, 25 years ago when I married her she made me first box up my radios, and no more coffee breaks, even after all that time it is really something to go out in the yard to talk, but they make good pets. HANG ON

TECH 808 NO BIRTHDAY CAKE FROM YOUR KITCHEN UNLESS YOU EAT THE FIRST HALF. HA HA

Guess i've been lucky, soon will have in 47 years of marriage, and with the same woman, and well over half of that she's had to put up with my radios. Of course I always buy her some new radio equipment for christmas, birthdays, anniversary, halloween, valentine, and all the rest. That's the way to get along, and if you believe that, i've still got this Ocean front property for sale in Arkansas. lol

Well, GUY's!

Guess I am LUCKY,

All the Kids are grown and gone. No more School clothes to buy.

No more Shoes to buy.
No more Hey can I have 5 bucks for gas.
No more Hey can I use the Car.
No more Books to buy.
No more wondering WHO our daughters want to go out with.
No more wondering who our Sons want to go out with.
No More BIG meals to fix.

No more tying the phone up for 23 hours a day.

When they were all 18 we broke the Plates.
Planted flowers in the Glasses.
Melted the silverware down.

And started to ENJOY the quiet.

NOW the only problems we have are Gee honey what kind of radio Equipment do you want for Christmas, Your Birthday, Anniversary.

Heck, Shirley goes thru the Copper Catalogs as much as I do.

If I miss something on the forum or in the catalog all I have to do is ask her and she can pretty much tell me.

Our lives are pretty simple as we both enjoy the same things. Catfishing, Radios, Travelling, Radios, Boating, Radios.

And Going to visit our Children & Grandchildren.

I love to Grill out so pretty much we share the cooking.

Boy, after she reads this post I should get a GOOD Christmas Present from COPPER.

Oh, And Karatebutcher, She does MAKE GREAT CAKES, She owned her own restaurant when I met her. Guess she felt sorry for this Poor under nourished young un.

And, I always try and keep her HAPPY.

She may be short but darn can she be Ornery at times.

OH! AND NOW BEFORE I SUBMIT THIS FOR POSTING.

I HEAR IT IS HER JOB TO KEEP ME UNDER CONTROL.

She says someone at COPPER gave her this POSITION.

So see guy's WE GET ALONG GREAT!

Lon
