Well I got my 4900B radio today. And I must say, it's been a blast. The "HELLO" on LCD when you turn it on is kinda fun. Loads of buttons and a stock mic that can be programed to do anything you want with the 3 buttons on the mic. Another fun feature. The only drawback is the 5 digit freq counter. But I can deal with that. I did make a contact, on the upperside of 27.5600. The guys numbers were 296, out of AL. He was strong and said the 4900 was making a great trip. And the stock had loads of audio, gotta love that! Ok, just wanted to share, hope you all are chasin' skipland!

Hey Sodapop,
Enjoy your New Radio! What's the SERIAL# on the back of the 4900b that you got, and how do you like it so far? What kind of radio is it that it is replacing? What kind of numbers are you seeing on Dead Key? AM/FM/SSB both PEP & Swing? What's your opinion of the reciever and scan functions? What kind of test equipment are you using with it? Are you making use of both of the antenna capabilities, or just the one? How do you like all the buttons & features so far? THX. Enjoy the Radio and the DX!
