Was on the Times Microwave web site using the attenuation calculator and for the LMR 240UF on channel 20 (27.205) at 30ft. they show a power handling rating of .26kw now I don't know about this new math but plain old arithmetic figures that, assuming a 1000 watt kw,then the 240 is only rated for 260 watts. Now did I do something wrong or is this true. The 400UF rates at about 2.88kw so I would kinda guess the 240 rating is a bit low. I want to use the 240UF in my truck BUT if the power rating is correct my Magnaforce 350 is not going to agree with the coax. I have 200ft. or so of standard 240 but I have to bend it pretty tight in a couple of places and I think it would not last long.

I'm really not sure with the "UF". I've only used the regular LMR240 which is rated at 1.1kw rms.

671 I checked again and I must have messed up something before. The listed power rating for the "UF" is 1.29kw so I suppose this will be suitable for my mobile setup.

also if i remember correctly this rating is continuous 100%duty cycle.

for the normal 240lmr its 1.49kw/rms and 1.3db/100ft.
its peak power rating is much higher 5.6kw and this is for 30 mhz.

"i take this from thier specs".

ive never used the 240 but have used the 400 and 600lmr cables and like this stiff stuff very well.

lmr400 in thier spec sheets is rated at 3.3kw/rms and .7db/100ft with a peak power of 16kw. 85%velocity factor

lmr600 .42db/100ft, rms power of 5.5kw at 30mhz with a peak power of 40kw 87%velocity factor.

power ratings im not real worried about because ill never come close to stressing this stuff but i do really like the low loss and low price compared to hardline.

id think 240 or 300 would make awesome cable for the mobile beats mini8.
