According to ***, they replace the parts with heavier duty "factory" parts allowing power to flow better. Yeah right!!!! They did the "***** ****" to one of mine (don't know what parts they replaced) but it only lasted 6 months.

speaking from experience of repairing and reworking this type of 'tuning', when they did any upgrading it was 1 part, the 2sa473 to a 2sa1012. they then added the non-volted version of the npc and cranked everything(including bias adjustments) wideopen. this was their way of getting around the 'we don't cut limiters'. they might as well been clipped when they were through with it. well, you don't have bias adjustments in this radio so that is one area that couldn't have been screwed with, but you have everthing else.

as for the rx problem, did they take the megatune out because of that?? if so, i wouldn't take anything back to them since a blind man could see that the areas the megatune effects has nothing to do with the rxer. also, did they fix the rx problem that you had in the 1st place? just curious on this part.

Hummm they put in a new final then cranked everything wide open to get more power ???? sounds llike a wast of time to me. If i needed more output THAT bad build a linear......just my opinion.
