I have a grand caravan with an after market console between the front seats. I mount the radio verticaly on the passenger side of the console. This permits short power lead run and no passenger interference. Be sure to ground radio chassie to frame. Hope this helps.

It sure does.Thank U. How bout your antenna ? My wife likes to put her van in the garage, and i'm afraid even the smallest CB antenna will not be short enough to fit under the garage door. So I probably couldnt mount it on the roof. Would the bumpers work ?

I use a wilson 1000 mag mount and run the coax thru the tail gate. Yes, the stinger is long but, it unscrews easily. It comes with a cover for the threads and conector. I spend a lot of time in 7' parking garages. It takes about 1 minute to undo it and stow it. Mounted in the middle of the roof gives the complete vehicle for counterpoise. I get a 1:1 to 1 across all bands.
NO, do not use the bumper. Too much of the signal will radiate off the side of the vehicle
Hope this helps

Happy New Year to you. Are you happy with the 1000 mag mt ? Also you said you ran the coax thru the tailgate. How did you secure the coax to the roof, or is it close enough to the tailgate that it wont flop in the wind ?

I run a spray rig in the spring and summer and plan taking out my G99 out of the semi and putting in the wifes van. Do you think the 1000 mag mount can handle it ? ..............topgun

Set the mag mount dead center of the van. Front to rear and side to side. There is no problem with the coax laying on the roof, straight back to the tail gate. Have it enter on one side and lay along the edge of the floor forward to the radio. Use a 90 degree connector between the radio and the coax. The wind will keep the coax straight if you keep your speed above 70 mph Ha! If you have a roof rack use plastic ties if not don't worry about it. There will be NO Problem with the 1000 handling it.
Courious, what kind of spray rig? Duster or land mobil? I flew cropdusters for a while
